I recently went for my fourth massage in my entire life. And it was awesome. And something I need to do more of. And, if I love something, I hope you’ll love it too. When we’re stressed in life (and hey, we all have moments of stress), we hold it in our bodies. You might be experiencing something big in your life like the passing of a loved one and grief (my heart goes out to you) or it may be something smaller like the everyday stuff with finances, friends, families, traffic;) When the body is tense and under stress, it produces unhealthy levels of cortisol which can contribute to weight gain, sleeplessness, digestive problems and headaches. Massage has been shown to decrease cortisol levels in the body. When we feel great physically, it flows over to other areas of our life. Tip for those who aren’t the first to respond: Get a lacrosse ball and rub your shoulders on it up against a wall! Amazing when done a few times a week! I did this when a massage therapist recommended it after my last car accident and it’s helped my neck and shoulders so much!
